DESCRIPTION

Sizzle | Beat celebrates percussion in all its rhythmic and melodic glory, with special guests from diverse cultures and musical backgrounds. Surrounding the audience with musical love, the Sydney Conservatorium percussionists will present minimal vibes from Michael Gordon and Cat Hope, while Connor Malanos will grab you with his beatboxing, Throat Pleats will introduce us to their favourite musical vacuum cleaner and our 2022 Hatched Associate Artist Eliza Shephard will turn her flute into a drum-stick (well, maybe…). The afternoon will wrap up with a big group djembe jam so bring along your favourite drum and get in on the act!
